Elizabethtown, KY--April 13, 2007

This week we once again heard American military officials--this time Maj. Gen.William Cardwell instead of unnamed military officials--say that insurgents were being trained in Iran to attack U.S. forces in Iraq.

Caldwell said that members of the Iranian intelligence community were training Iraqis in Iran to use Explosively Formed Penetrators (EFPs) and other weapons for roadside bombings and other types of offensive engagements with US troops.

It has long been suspected that  President George W. Bush is itching to attack Iran for at least two reasons:  (1) Iran is developing nuclear fuel capability, which Bush says will lead to Iran having nuclear weapons, something Bush does not want to allow to happen; and (2) Iran is a country Bush named as a member of an "Axis of Evil" (along with North Korea and Iraq) in a State of the Union Address several years ago.

Having already invaded Iraq to depose Saddam Hussein, some think Bush is just waiting for an excuse to at least bomb Iran's nuclear sites.

Some think that our military is already stretched too thin as it is, with the mess in Iraq and other troops in Afghanistan as well. But Bush and his men have a history of making great military mistakes .  Are they mad enough to start a third war to add to the conflagrations in Iraq and Afghanistan?
